A floorplan for our wellness escape in Suriname

While continuing to develop our wellness escape in Surinam, we discovered that there was no floorplan of our escape available. This gave us an idea. How wonderful would it be if future guests could already get an impression of the layout before their stay? And how valuable would it be for sponsors and donors to see what we are working on?

That is why we decided to create a floor plan ourselves. We started with a simple sketch on paper. Using a pencil, we drew the layout of the cottage. We then scanned the drawing and developed it further in Canva Pro, which we are able to use free of charge as a foundation.

It is not a professional architectural drawing. And it does not need to be. The most important thing is that the floor plan provides a clear impression of the cottage and its layout.

During this process, I once again realized how well this reflects the way we are building our wellness escape. Step by step, with care and dedication, but without waiting until everything is perfect. This floor plan is a small but meaningful example of that approach. A simple sketch that has grown into something practical that helps us see the bigger picture.

Perhaps that is the most important lesson: you do not have to wait until something is perfect, because it never will be. Instead, focus on what is good enough and take the next step from there.
