Today’s blog story is not just any story. It is a guest column written by my father, Theo Dundas. With this column, we hope to inspire you to treat the earth with greater awareness.
Enjoy reading!
“Earth, air, water, and fire. Elements that govern everything on this earth. They have their quiet moments, but when they erupt, you had better take cover. That is why it is important to respect nature. If we do not, we will have to face the consequences.”
All around the world, we see that it is humanity that damages nature. Greed is one of the major culprits. For example:
people exploit various soils to extract raw materials.
people use dangerous substances such as mercury and poison in agriculture.
people buy things that are rarely or never used.
people leave waste behind in nature, and so on.
Lately, we have seen disaster after disaster following us: wildfires, floods, earthquakes, and viruses. Yes, those who refuse to listen apparently have to feel the consequences. However, it is painful that those who do try to live consciously must suffer because of the irresponsible behavior of others who continue to treat our earth recklessly.
It is time for all of us to come to our senses and adopt a different attitude toward the earth. It is time for all of us to live more consciously and show that we care for this piece of earth we are allowed to live on. Let us all help protect the world and defend it against those who continue to pursue their own financial gain at the expense of the earth.
My name is Theo Dundas, and I am committed to the healthy livability of the earth. Will you join me?
Together with my father, I have listed a few initiatives you can take part in to live more consciously with the earth. If you would also like to make a difference, or do even more, see the list below.
