Last Friday, we had the opportunity to organize another wonderful event for our neighbors in the community.
Once again, it turned out to be a great success.
From beautifully scented lavender bouquets, room sprays, small jars filled with herbs, fruit, vegetable and flower seeds, to various DIY workshops and even edible flower dishes—there was something for everyone. And of course, there were free outdoor plants available for both home and garden.
For the elderly who were unable to attend, we brought the atmosphere and warmth to them. It was so special to see how grateful they were when we visited—bringing small plants and taking the time to sit and talk. Moments like that remind you how important it is to care for the people around you.
Aside from visiting those who couldn’t be there, I personally really enjoyed participating in several workshops. The DIY spring room spray workshop was one of my favorites—especially now that I’m consciously working toward making our home more free of chemicals. I’ve written another blog about that as well, which you can find here. I also really enjoyed making our own potting soil.
At the end of the day, everyone who attended received a lavender bouquet. About 75% of these were made using lavender from our own herb garden. The remaining bouquets were generously donated by a local florist/herbal shop.
Making these bouquets was actually very simple. As a thank you for reading this blog, I’d love to share how we made them.
